Modern Makers: A celebration of emerging artists and makers

Gabriel Scott is proud to present Modern Makers, a curated showcase of local, emerging artists and makers who share our design principles and creative vision.

Exceptional craft is at the heart of what we do and the designs we create. Our pieces are designed, handmade and assembled in our studio in Montreal, Canada by our team of industrial designers, engineers and manufacturers. Our lighting is blown using traditional techniques, which we continue to explore further through introducing new glass shapes and textures to our existing collections.

With our Modern Makers series we explore this passion for remarkable craft through other artists and makers and celebrate the techniques and materials they use. Their work is available to view in our New York and London showrooms and they will be sharing their creative process and vision on our website Journal over the coming weeks.

The makers have been hand selected due to their alignment with Gabriel Scott’s own design principles; creating pieces that are versatile, customisable and timeless. Each maker explores shape and texture in a really interesting way and all take inspiration from the organic form, which is a consistent influence throughout Gabriel Scott’s pieces.

The selected works cover an array of different materials and techniques. From ceramics to stone sculptures and textile art, each maker explores their craft in their own way and has a personal story behind why they began making and what it means to them.

The UK makers work will be available to view in our London Showroom: 12 Old Burlington Street, Mayfair, and US makers work will be on display in our New York Showroom: 372 Broome Street. Come and visit our showrooms over the next few months and experience a space filled with creativity and exceptionally designed pieces.

A new maker’s profile will be going live weekly, so keep checking back to discover more.
