MECHANICAL ENGINEER | PRODUCT DEVELOPER

Montreal - (Head Office)

 
 

In response to our rapid growth, we are looking for a mechanical engineer / product developer who can contribute to product development, take ownership of product improvement, and participate in various large-scale custom projects to help bolster our design department.

Reporting into the head of design, applicants must be able to demonstrate their willingness to take initiative and ownership of their work, as well as show an aptitude for product development.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for technical development and engineering optimization of Gabriel Scott products

  • Continuous research and optimization of Gabriel Scott’s products and technology

  • Responsible for technical customer support

  • Perform 3D modeling on existing products to improve engineering and cost

  • Perform 3D modeling of R&D project

  • Perform various calculations as required (resistance of materials, etc.)

  • Mechanical and electrical optimization of assemblies and products already in place

  • Optimization / diversification of the materials used (R&D and products)

  • Assistance and / or technical support

  • Creation and maintenance of list of materials (BOM) for product manufacturing

  • Monitoring of UL and CE certifications of products

  • Participation in the design and / or conception meeting

  • Any other tasks, related to design, engineering and technical support

ACADEMIC, TECHNICAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or other relevant academic or technical background

  • Good knowledge and / or good understanding of electricity and UL / CE standard is a strong asset

  • Very good knowledge of Solidworks and Solidworks PDM

  • Bilingualism (French and English)

  • Management experiences an asset

  • Good communication

  • Autonomous and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
