Gabriel Scott launches London Showroom
Gabriel Scott unveils its new London showroom this summer in the heart of Mayfair, with a 1,000-square foot space that will house its exceptional furniture and lighting designs.
The Old Burlington Street address will showcase Gabriel Scott’s distinctive chandeliers and pendants, a glamorous range of chairs, dining tables and side tables, as well as provide a venue where designers, architects and end customers can plan projects and interior schemes.
Gabriel Scott was founded in 2012 when brothers-in-law Gabriel Kakon and Scott Richler first collaborated while working as architects in Montreal, Canada. Often tasked with specifying high-end custom furniture for clients, the pair realised that projects would benefit from a holistic approach, if they were able to control every detail of a building design, right down to the furniture and lighting. After throwing around some ideas, Kakon and Richler found a common goal in creating beautiful, modern furniture and lighting fixtures.
Each piece of furniture and lighting in the collection is handmade in Gabriel Scott’s 30-thousand-square-foot studio in Montreal’s Garment District, a neighbourhood renowned for its status as a pioneer of Canadian fashion and heritage.
The quality of the design and craftsmanship earned the pair a reputation and the New York showroom was launched in order to meet customers’ demands. The pair has created lighting installations for the likes of Cartier and Bergdorf Goodman as well as notable A- listers worldwide.
Kakon and Richler both have a keen eye for detail and take inspiration from fashion and jewellery trends. They work together alongside their team of industrial designers, engineers and manufacturers to oversee each piece from inception to production.
“We are hugely excited about this next step for our brand. It feels like the right time for us to arrive in London and make our works more accessible to a growing UK/EU demand,” comments Gabriel Kakon.
“Although we are expanding, the heart and ethos of GABRIEL SCOTT remains the same,” adds Scott Richler. “We are as committed as ever to creating beautiful, contemporary, hand-crafted pieces of design that people will be able, and want to, pass down from generation to generation.
“Our London showroom will be classically chic and understated, with minimal white walls, an elegant muted-tone stone floor and brass trims. Think art-gallery meets Celine store.”
